Retreat : A question of balance

We are very conscious these days of a need for balance in life and how we live it … in a global context - man and the planet … in a political context - due space for diversity … in economics … and in ourselves.  It starts with us.  If we are out of balance, we are stressed and we don’t function properly. 

Martin Büber said, “In the beginning was relation” .  Balance is about relationship, so that is where we begin - considering relationship on many levels, so as to find the dynamic which works for us as the unique person we each are, in the many contexts in which we live and function.

This retreat offers three fundamental questions, the resolution of which will be individual to each person present :

• How do I hear all the voices within myself?
• How can I accompany others and let others accompany me?
• How will I complement a living world?

The process will include meditation (instruction and practice), creative workshop space, reading and discussion, awareness with walking… it will be experiential, but sensitive to where each person finds themselves… it will have a form, which will be held loosely, to allow everyone to take from it what they need… it will have the sort of challenge which can lead to self-discovery.
