Retreat/workshop : Finding the Balance

(4 days/5 nights : arr. Tues 1st May, dep. Sun 6th May : £530 or €595)

We are very conscious these days of the need for balance in life and how we live it … in a global context - man and the planet … in a political context - due space for diversity … in economics … and in ourselves.  It starts with us.  If we are out of balance, we are stressed and we don’t function properly.

Lack of equilibrium – lack of balance – can account for a wide range of ills… anxiety, bad sleep, bad eating patterns, feeling depressed, feeling stuck and no way forward, stressed…

But feeling ok is about more than not being stressed, it’s about feeling confident and assured… about knowing that you can plan a way forward for yourself and adjust your plans for what happens that’s not in your control. Starting out is all about relating to ourselves.  Getting on is all about relating to other people..  So this retreat workshop takes these two headings.

The first part – Starting Out – will be about listening to ourselves : through meditation, in one-to-one sessions and in creative work, the focus will be on the question: What are my real strengths, how do I use them and how do I work around where I feel less strong?

The second part – Getting On – will be about relating to others : continuing meditation and one-to-one sessions, but now incorporating work on non-confrontational negotiation, listening to others and keeping our balance, we will focus on: Being seen and respected for who I am and what I believe.

Your time here will incorporate group sessions (using instruction discussion and practice), meditation, one-to-one sessions, individual work… all within the environment of companionship with privacy, which we seek to create at Le Sentier Tranquille.  There is plenty to read and listen to and guidance will be given if requested.  As well, there will be time for just sitting chatting and relaxation.
